Art & Design

The key to creating a great print is sharp, good quality artwork. At Applique Apparel we have a very experienced artwork department, and we are happy to advise customers on how to present their artwork to ensure the best results. Whether you have decided to opt for a screen print, CAD-cut print, or embroidered design our experience can prove invaluable, so please ask us for assistance if you are in any doubt about your artwork.

Here are some tips :

What format should my artwork be in? – Our preferred format is either as an Adobe Illustrator (.ai) file, or as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file. These vector graphics files ensure the highest quality print, irrespective of the size of the print.

We also accept non-vector files, such as a .jpeg or .tiff file at 300 dpi. Please note there may be an artworking charge to convert the artwork into a vector image so we can get a better print.

I don't have an electronic version of my artwork, what should I do? – Our artwork department can recreate your design electronically for a small design charge. We will provide you with an electronic copy of the artwork we produce for you to keep.

Is there anything else you need before you can print my garment? – Please let us know what size print you require and where exactly you need the print on the garment. If we are screen printing and need to match a pantone reference number please let us know.

If you are unsure about any aspect of your artwork, please contact us either by email or by phone and we will tell you exactly what you must do to keep your costs down. We will also advise how best to present your design on your chosen garment by providing a digital mock up, and, what production technique suits your requirements best.

Email artwork to info@appliqueapparel.co.uk in any of the formats specified. You can send a hard copy in the post or visit the shop.
